How to maintain papers for the Estimating keypad

To maintain the keypad, from the ExcelSS Menu go the the FILE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS and expand it.

Next, go to Estimating Configuration

Open the Modify Keypad option

In the Keypad Maintenance program, click on the tab for the PAPER CBN to see the paper Type/Sub keys.

There are two types of paper keys on the keypad – combined keys & multiple sub weight keys.

With the combined keys, the paper type and sub weight are combined in the same key. This is done where that paper
type has only one sub weight and appears on the keypad like the illustration below.

With the multiple sub weight keys, the paper type is set up in a key by itself, and the various sub weights have their
individual keys, like the illustration below.

When editing the combined key, you would need to edit Key Text field with the paper type, then edit the Help Text field
that has the paper type AND the sub weight. That Help Text field can also be seen when you hover your cursor over the
combined key. The format for that field is to type in the 3 character paper type, a space, and the sub weight.

When editing the multiple sub weight key set, you have to edit each key separately. The paper type has its own key,
and you edit the paper type by editing only the Key Text field.

And, the paper sub wight has its own key, and you edit the paper type by editing only the Key Text field

The easiest way to remove a paper sub from the keypad is to locate a blank cell and place your cursor over it, then drag it to the cell you want to remove and drop the blank on top of it.

If you are removing a Type as well as a Sub, drag a blank cell to the Type as well.

For example, if GUM 22 was to be removed from the keypad illustrated below, you would drag a blank cell and drop it
on the GUM button, and repeat the procedure on the 22 button right beneath it.

Be very careful not to accidentally drop the blank cell on the wrong button or else it will be removed as well. Once you
have edited the keypad as needed, click on the ‘Save Changes to Active Plant’ button to store the change. Then, close
the program window.
